Resort, Sharm el-Sheikh
Designing diversity of spaces that respond to a wide range of purposes in a resort, from quiet, restorative retreats to lively social and recreational areas, is an intriguing challenge.
Rooted in its setting, the project becomes an exploration of materials drawn from Egypt’s varied landscapes: warm desert stone, textured sands, Islamic architecture in Arab “medina” cities and palm woods and straw from the oasis. These material and stylistic choices ground the architecture in place, creating spaces that feel both immersive and deeply connected to the natural and cultural context of the region.
